What we make

Two lines, one raw material, no filler.

Everything starts as coconut shell from the copra belt of North Sumatra — carbonised in our own kilns, milled, bound with food-grade tapioca starch, and extruded. No sawdust, no coal dust, no chemical accelerant, no odour on the first light.

The difference between a lounge that reorders and one that doesn't is usually ash and smell. That's why the numbers on this page come off a third-party certificate instead of a brochure.

The house grade. Lights in about eight minutes on a gas burner, holds a full session without relighting, and comes off the head as a clean grey ash rather than a black core.

Volatile matter under 12% is what buys the length: less of the cube is gas that leaves in the first ten minutes, more of it is carbon that stays. Measured on a covered head, three cubes, standard foil.

01 — Ignition

Cubes reach a full glow across the whole face, not just the edges. Even ignition is what stops the head from running hot on one side.

02 — Residue

What is left after a full cycle: a pale, dry ash that brushes off. No black core, no sticky binder residue on the grate.

03 — Net weight

Every inner bag is weighed to 1.000 kg on a 5 g graduation scale before sealing. Short weight is the fastest way to lose a distributor.

From shell to box

Seven steps, and the drying is the one that matters.

Most quality complaints in this trade trace back to briquettes pulled out of the oven early to hit a sailing date. We don't shorten step six.

01Shell sourcing

Mature coconut shell collected from copra mills in North Sumatra. Old, dry shell only — young shell carries too much moisture into the kiln.

02Carbonisation

Drum kilns held long and slow to drive off volatiles without burning away the carbon. This is where fixed carbon is won or lost.

03Milling & sieving

Charcoal is milled to a fine flour and sieved to 200 mesh. Coarse grit is what makes a cube spark and crack.

04Mixing

Blended with food-grade tapioca starch and water. No coal dust, no sulphur, no chemical accelerant — nothing that carries a smell into the first light.

05Extrusion & cutting

Continuous bars pressed under vacuum, then cut to 26 mm. Vacuum extrusion is what removes the air pockets that cause a cube to split under heat.

06Oven drying

Held in the oven until moisture is genuinely down, typically 12–24 hours depending on ambient humidity. Timed by moisture reading, not by the clock.

07QC & packing

Sampled for the lab, weighed to 1.000 kg, vacuum-sealed in an inner bag, boxed, and shrink-wrapped on the pallet.

What is the actual ash content?

1.90% as received and 2.05% on a dry basis on the April 2026 batch, tested by Carsurin. We contract at a ceiling of 3.0% so there is real headroom between what we promise and what we deliver. Ash above roughly 3% is what makes a session taste dusty and leaves grey film on the head.

How long does one 26 mm cube burn?

Two to three hours on a covered head with standard foil, which covers a full session without a relight. Open-head setups and heavy airflow will pull that toward the lower end.

Do the cubes spark, crack or smell on the first light?

No. There is no chemical accelerant and no sawdust in the mix, only coconut shell charcoal and food-grade tapioca binder — so there is nothing to gas off with an odour. Sparking comes from coarse particle size and trapped air; we sieve to 200 mesh and press under vacuum to remove both.

What is the minimum order quantity?

One 20 ft container, roughly 18 metric tonnes. For a first shipment we will do a mixed load across cube sizes so you can see what your market moves. Trial pallets are possible but the freight per kilo stops making sense fast.

Can you produce under our own brand?

Yes, and most of our volume is private label. Send artwork or a reference box and we will return a print proof plus a physical sample box in ten to fourteen days. Plate cost is waived from one full container.

Which documents ship with the container?

Certificate of analysis, certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and fumigation certificate. Additional destination-specific paperwork can be arranged — tell us the port and we will confirm the set before you pay a deposit.

Which sizes and shapes are available besides the 26 mm cube?

25 mm and 26 mm cubes, finger and hexagonal shisha cuts, and the hexagonal BBQ stick line. Custom dies are possible from three containers, with a one-off tooling charge.
